Cape Town from above

R100.00

Bird’s-eye view of Cape Town from above.

Description

Cape Town from above is a first of its kind showcasing over 50 elevated views of Cape Town.

Each page features a normal view as well as an bird’s-eye view of each of Cape Town’s most iconic sites and attractions, with an extended caption for each attraction.

Shaen Adey spent many hours on location sometimes before sunrise to capture Cape Town as never seen before. Gale-force winds, smoky skies and devastating fires have been great challenges to her, but the result is a stunning pictorial book filled with amazing elevated views from above which give a glimpse of Cape Town and the beauty that this city has to offer.

This book is a must-have for all international and local tourists and will be a great addition to any bookshelf or as a special memento of your visit.

Fly above and see Cape Town as never before.

About the author

Shaen Adey is a professional photographer and photojournalist. She is also a member of Getty images and Afripics Photo library. After completing a three-year course in photography, Shaen spent some time working in advertising and later moved into conservation focusing on wildlife photography. Slowly she followed her passion and, as a Gallo/Getty photographer, she now has the enviable life of being a photo-journalist specializing in travel, adventure sports and lifestyle shoots. Few can say work is fun but Shaen’s one of those lucky souls.

Shaen has competed in the Kalahari Augrabies Extreme 250km Marathon, the Desert Knights MTB and Expedition Africa, a grueling 500km adventure race – all in the name of work. She also spent 2 years documenting the Outback in Australia; most of the time on her own.

Shaen has contributed to numerous books plus both national and international magazines which include, The Intrepid Explorer, Escapes, AA Traveller, Country Life, Travel Africa, Getaway, Wild, Cape Etc, SA Mountain. She has also been published in National Geographic.

Her mountain experience includes scaling the Matterhorn (Switzerland), Mont Blanc Du Tacul and Dent du Géant (France), Mount Aspiring (New Zealand) Mount-Toubkal (Morocco) Mt Kenya and several via ferrata in the Dolomites (Italy).

Mostly she’s young at heart and an adventurer, so her camera goes along for the ride.
