Wall Map · 9th edition · est. 1958
The World Map Commercial shows the whole world at 1:17 000 000 on the Times projection, on a sheet 1.79 metres wide.
Cities are graded by population with the bands printed in the legend — over five million, one to five million, 100 000 to a million, and under 100 000 — and capitals are underlined so they read as capitals rather than as another large city. International boundaries and provincial or state boundaries are both drawn.
Major roads, railways and rivers are shown, along with international airports and spot heights. Shipping routes are drawn across the oceans with their distances in nautical miles.
Suitable for
Trade, shipping and export planning. Shipping routes are drawn ocean by ocean with their distances in nautical miles, alongside international airports — the two things a freight conversation usually turns on.
Sales and account territories. Country boundaries and state or provincial boundaries are drawn together, with cities graded into four population bands.
Offices, boardrooms and reception areas. A clean political palette at 1.79 metres wide — large enough to gather around, small enough for a normal wall.
Classrooms and training rooms. Population bands, capitals, boundaries and physical outline on a stated projection at a stated scale.
Not the right map if you want ocean depths or a larger sheet. For a bigger world map with ocean depth banding, see the World Executive Large Wall Map.

Buying this map
- Format
- Ready to Hang comes with a plastic batten fixed along the top and bottom, so a large sheet hangs flat and straight as soon as it is up. Laminated Sheet is the same laminated map without the battens.
- Delivery
- Delivery anywhere in South Africa is R250 for wall maps — one flat fee for the order, not per map, so a set of sheets costs the same to deliver as one. Orders are dispatched within 2 working days of payment; allow 3 to 5 working days for delivery.
